We had a fun gathering at the home of Donna Dong to put together hand-written cards with messages of encouragement and a sheet of custom-made stickers for our students currently on campus. The cards arrived between the Thanksgiving break and before finals, so all our current Smithies from the area felt a little love from all us back home.

In recent years we have gifted our newly matriculating students with a club-unique Smith College mug and some tea to get them started on the right tea-lovin' path. We gave these packages to the students who were able to join us at the Summer Tea, and mailed off others to make sure each student had their mug in time to pack for Northampton. This year we leveraged the availability of Smith College tea bags!

A group of us met at Nirvana Soul in Cupertino on a lovely Saturday to assemble these sweet little care packages for the 25 Peninsula Bay Area students currently on campus at Smith. We stuffed small glass jars with candy and an origami craft and included a note on the gift bag to let the students know that we're back home rooting for them. As a club we gather for these micro-volunteer events twice a year -- a great way to meet your fellow local alums and be involved in the club without a big time commitment. Keep an eye out for the next one this Fall!

Twice per school term we put together care packages for the current Smithies from the Peninsula Bay Area. Our student care package coordinator Trang Le '20 led us through making stenciled Smith notebooks and an enthusiastic letter of support for the students to receive in time for finals!

Twice a year, our care package coordinators lead the effort to create, assemble, and send care packages to current Smith students who hail from the Peninsula Bay Area. Thank you to Christine Hoffman '14 for leading the charge on the project this term.

This micro-volunteer event was an opportunity to meet up at a local park in Santa Clara for a quick task to assemble care packages for current students from the Peninsula Bay Area, letting them know that their local Smith Club is thinking of them and wishing them the best during finals.

Each student received a metal pencil tin with a highlighter, pencil, pencil sharpener along with a typed calligraphy note reading "Smithies are so sharp!". Thanks to everyone who helped out!

On Sunday, November 22, Smith College Club of the Peninsula Student Care Packages Co-Coordinators Christine Hoffman '14 and Trang Le '20 recruited additional club members to help finalize the distribution of this semester's student care packages: a personalized bookmark and a "cookie-in-a-jar" that the students can use to make warm cookies at home and feel the love.
